Hiking: Moab is located a short distance from both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. There are extensive hiking trails in these parks as well as trails close to town, including a recommended hike near Powerhouse Lane – Mill Creek Canyon. Maps available in town.
Mountain Biking: Moab is the “mountain biking capital of the world”. Bike rentals and maps are available. Helmets and elbow/wrist guards are recommended.
Equestrian: Backcountry Mules offers mule rides and horses are available at numerous places, including Red Cliffs Adventure Lodge, Sorrel River Ranch Resort Spa, and Pack Creek Ranch.
River Rafting: River trips are readily available. Festival outfitter Bob Jones is owner of Tag-a-Long Tours, the largest river expedition company in town. Tag-a-Long executes the Festival’s Grotto Concerts in Canyonlands National Park and the Cataract Canyon Concert Raft Trips.
Swimming: The Swanny City Park public swimming pool is located downtown near the Festival office.
Golf: Moab has a magnificent 18-hole, public golf course, located a short distance from the center of town. Clubs can be rented at the course.
Tennis: Public tennis courts available at Grand County High School, located behind and to the right of City Market on south Main Street. Courts are lighted for evening use.
Moab Fitness Center: Good selection of aerobic and fitness equipment available for $25 per week with a $30 deposit on an electronic key which is refundable upon return of the key. You must bring clean gym shoes (not worn on the street) to work out at the gym.
