There are many different ways to reach Moab, whose remote location is reason enough to come. Here are your options for traveling here as well as navigating the area once you arrive.


Air Travel:

Great Lakes Airlines offers two flights per day to Moab through Denver on Beechcraft 1900D, twin engine, turbo prop aircraft. Fares on Great Lakes can be booked as part of an itinerary through Denver. You can book directly at www.flygreatlakes.com or by calling 800-553-5111. 

Grand Junction Regional Airport is the closest airport to Moab with service by some major airlines.

Denver International Airport and Salt Lake City International Airport are Moab’s most convenient large airports with regular service by major airlines.


Rental Cars:

All major companies available in Grand Junction, Denver and Salt Lake City. Enterprise Car Rental is available in Moab. If you plan to rent a car in Moab, you MUST RESERVE WELL IN ADVANCE.

The drive to Moab is 5-6 hours from the Denver airport (all but the last 40 minutes on I-70), approximately 2 hours from the Grand Junction airport and 4 hours from the Salt Lake City Airport with 2.5 hours on UT 6.

If you chose not to rent a car, there are airport shuttles to Moab from Grand Junction and & Salt Lake City.

Driving Directions:

From Denver:
Pena Boulevard to I-70 West to Exit 182 (Crescent Junction / Moab) US 191
Turn LEFT onto US-191/ UT-128. Continue on US-191 to Moab.

From Grand Junction:
From Airport turn RIGHT on Horizon Drive. Take I-70 West ramp.
I-70 West to Exit 182 (Crescent Junction / Moab) US 191
Turn LEFT onto US-191/ UT-128. Continue on US-191 to Moab.

From Grand Junction (Scenic Route):
From Airport turn RIGHT on Horizon Drive. Take I-70 West ramp.
I-70 West to Exit 214 for Cisco (first Cisco Exit).
Turn LEFT to go over the freeway and then RIGHT on the other side. Continue on this
road through and beyond the “ghost” town of Cisco.
Turn LEFT at the intersection with Hwy 128 to Castle Valley and Moab.
This Utah Scenic Byway road parallels the Colorado River through breathtaking scenery.
Turn LEFT onto US-191/ UT-128. Continue to follow US-191 to Moab.
This route takes a little longer to drive but it’s well worth it!

From Salt Lake City:
Merge onto I-215 S.
Merge onto I-15 S via EXIT 12 toward LAS VEGAS.
Merge onto US-6 E via EXIT 258 toward PRICE/ MANTI.
Take the US-191 exit, EXIT 182, toward CRESCENT JCT./ MOAB.
Turn RIGHT onto US-191. Continue to follow US-191 to Moab.
