Marketing Consultant 

The Moab Music Festival (MMF) is currently accepting applications for the year-round, independent contractor position of Marketing Consultant (MC). MMF is seeking a creative, collaborative, self-directed individual to join our mission to connect music, the landscape, and people through world-class, original, and diverse experiences.

The Moab Music Festival is an award-winning, national chamber music festival that runs for three weeks in Aug/Sept with education and outreach concerts and events throughout the year. The MMF has a variety of venues, most outdoors, that require an appreciation of nature and outdoor life. The primary industry in Moab, Utah is tourism, and MMF’s audience is comprised of local, regional, national and international music lovers and destination travelers.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the MC is responsible for creating and implementing all marketing and promotional strategies for MMF, as well as developing brand awareness, driving earned revenue through ticket sales and benefit events and program book ads. They will collaborate with the Festival’s PR firm and work to complement their efforts. You will enjoy working with us if you are a creative, strategic thinker driven by innovation.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Knowledge of classical music/arts
  • Extensive experience in, and knowledge of, digital marketing platforms for both travel and classical music, ability to acquire, leverage, and analyze data (on social media, with ticket buyers and beyond)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience and proven track record in marketing for the arts   
  • Familiar with advertising/marketing practices and standards of classical music and travel industries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite
  • Conscientious with meeting deadlines, prioritizing, results oriented, managing your time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build and manage marketing partnerships. Ability to work independently and work well as part of a team
  • Relationship builder

Advertising/Digital Marketing Responsibilities 

  • Strategize, research and stay current with marketing trends and practices in travel and classical music  
  • Create and execute a detailed advertising plan  
  • Oversee and/or create concepts and content for all of the Festival’s print and digital advertising materials in conjunction with the graphic design team and digital ad company
  • Identify and expand MMF’s audience and general brand in conjunction with the PR firm 
  • Work in conjunction with PR firm on MMF social media platforms
  • Proficiency in website analytics and conversion rate optimization.
  • Work with the ED and Box Office Manager to set goals, monitor results, provide ongoing analysis and research 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with advertising departments of media outlets.
  • Conduct audience surveys and other research to inform marketing strategy and research for other MMF departments. Compile results to share with all departments. 

Compensation

This is a year-round, part time, contracted position. This position reports to the Executive Director. Initial contract through December 31, 2024, with possible annual renewal. We will consider either an hourly, or project-based contractor.  Travel is required up to 3-4 times a year. Presence at Festival events is required. Additional travel dates to be negotiated with the Executive Director
