LP (Liang-Ping) How has been a member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra since 1980, often leading the group as concertmaster and appearing as a soloist. He tours with the ensemble throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and records with them for Deutsche Grammophon. LP has appeared with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and at the Moab, Caramoor, Santa Fe, Spoleto, Grand Teton, Sofia, and Lockenhaus festivals. Living in Santa Fe, he is a member of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra and the Chamber Music Festival, and has made solo appearances with the New Mexico Symphony. LP made his solo debut with the National Youth Orchestra of Taiwan at age seven and his Carnegie Hall debut in 1974 with the New York String Orchestra under Alexander Schneider. LP began to play the violin at age four, and later studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Curtis Institute of Music with Jaime Laredo. His violin is an 1863 J.B. Vuillaume.
