Philip is a Thai-American upright and electric bassist from Falls Church, VA. He got his start in music as a teenager playing bass guitar in rock bands and bass trombone in orchestras. In 2009, Philip discovered his love for jazz and chose to learn upright bass. He studied for three years at George Mason University with professor Glenn Dewey. In 2012, he relocated to Paris where he learned to speak French and played in local jazz clubs. In 2016, Philip made the move to the world's jazz capital, New York City, where he studied with the legendary bassist Ron Carter. Philip is now an in-demand bassist in his current hometown of Brooklyn, NY. He has performed all over the world, including at The Shanghai Music Hall, Jazz at Marciac and at his personal favorite jazz club, the now-closed Bohemian Caverns.
