Violist Leslie Tomkins is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Moab Music Festival which has its 25th annual Festival of music in concert with the landscape(tm) in September 2017. She is also the Associate Director of Summertrios, which provides coaching and performance opportunities for adult amateur musicians. When she is not playing chamber music among the red rocks of Southeastern UT, Leslie enjoys the richly diverse musical life that New York City offers, from playing Bach at Carnegie Hall to Steve Reich at the composer’s 80th birthday celebration at Symphony Space. She plays regularly with many fine New York area ensembles including the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Westchester Philharmonic, Stamford Symphony, American Composers Orchestra, Musica Sacra, Oratorio Society, and Orchestra of St. John the Divine. Leslie is a devotee of Gyrotonics and last season progressed to advanced beginner level in her quest to become a speed skater.
