Pandemic Video Project

What has inspired YOU to make music during the pandemic?

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” - Plato

This year has brought incredible challenges to live music performance. Making music at home has become both challenging and paramount for so many. The MMF wants to hear what has inspired you to make music during these times. Is it your source of joy, catharsis, distraction?

Grab your smartphone or tablet and tell us what has kept you inspired, then close with a musical sample, all in a 30-second to 3-minute video. We want to hear from musicians of all ages and levels, from wee ones just getting started, to accomplished professionals and everyone in-between. The MMF will gather these submissions into a fun video compilation, which we’ll be sharing with the public in mid-February.

In appreciation, everyone who submits a video will be entered to win one of the following:

  • 2 tickets for a weekend evening concert at the 2021 Moab Music Festival
  • A 30 minute private lesson with one of MMF’s artists
  • A gift certificate to a Utah-based music store

To Participate:

  1. RECORD a 30sec to 3min video with smartphone/tablet positioned in HORIZONTAL orientation, as follows:

A. State your name(s),
B. Where you’re from,
C. And whether you play an instrument, sing, or compose.
D. Tell us: What has inspired you to make music during the pandemic?
E. Give us the name of a piece and its composer/arranger and play up to 2 minutes of what you've been practicing, playing, or composing.
