Jessica Meyer, Solo Concert                                                 

Wednesday, February 6, 7 pm •  Grand Center* •  Free, $10 suggested donation     

 Violist and composer Jessica Meyer uses a single simple loop pedal to create a virtuosic orchestral experience with her viola, voice, and hand percussion. Drawing from Bach, Brahms, Delta blues, Flamenco, Indian Raga, and Appalachian fiddling, Meyer’s music takes audiences through joy, anxiety, anger, bliss, torment, loneliness and passion.  Ages 6 and up. *Note updated venue information. 

 

Jessica Meyer & Student Showcase                                     

Friday, February 8, 7 pm • Star Hall • Free, $10 suggested donation      

Culminating a week of composition workshops, students from the BEACON String Program, Grand County Strings, and Moab Advanced String Institute perform their original works for small string ensemble. Violist Jessica Meyer closes the evening. All ages welcome.

 

 

Tengyue Zhang, Solo Concert                               

Sunday, February 24, 7 pm • Star Hall • $15 Adult, $5 Students 6-18. 

The Moab Music Festival presents award-winning classical guitarist, Tengyue Zhang for a solo concert at Star Hall. Present your dinner receipt (dated 2/24/19) from a local restaurant and receive $5 off each adult ticket. Ages 6 and up. CLICK HERE for more information and to buy tickets online. 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The Moab Music Festival's 4th annual Winterlude presents a multi-week series of winter concerts and events, starting with advanced workshops for string students and public concerts led by Jessica Meyer, viola, composer, educator.  The mini-season concludes with a solo concert by nationally award-winning guitarist, Tengyue Zhang. All event proceeds benefit the MMF Education & Community Outreach Program by helping fund our annual Education Initiative Awards, which provide classroom resources and teacher training for local music educators throughout the Grand County School Disctrict.
